Six sentence story
Six-sentence story
Sentence 1: Begins with ‘Once upon a time’ and introduces the main character
Sentence 2: Describes where the character lived
Sentence 3: Describes the character’s special talent
Sentence 4: Describes the character’s problem
Sentence 5: Tells why the character felt that way
Sentence 6: Tells how the character solved the problem
1. Once upon a time...
There was a young girl named Rebeccah.

She lived in the middle of the forest .
3.
Rebbecah was gifted with the special talent of being able to see ghosts.
4.
The only problem was she was terrified of ghosts.
5.
Ghosts would randomly appear in front of her giving her a fright.
6.
She got a religious pendant that ward off ghosts and would carry the special pendant everywhere she went.
She lived in the middle of the forest .

Word problem of the week:
For every 8 girls in a school, there are 12 boys. If there are 40 students in the school, how many girls and boys are there in the school?
Answer: 8+8=16. 12+12=24. 24+8=40. There are 16 girls and 24 boys in the school.

Solve these problems. Write down your strategies:
Zyla has 64 lollies to share between some friends. How many lollies would each friend get if there were 8 altogether? 64÷8=8
For every 8 girls in a school, there are 12 boys. If there are 40 students in the school, how many girls and boys are there in the school?
