Rambunctious

Se x Rambunctious Ratios

We are learning to use addition and subtraction to solve proportion and ratios problems.

Multiplication and Division Practice

4 x 6 = 24 2. 4 x 5 = 20 3. 4 x 8 = 32 4. 4 x 12 =48

5. 28 x 2 =56 6. 33 x 10 =330 7. 40 x 30 = 1200 8. 4 x 7 =28

9. 40 ÷ 4 =10 10. 12 ÷ 4 = 3 11. 16 ÷ 4 =4 12. 25 ÷ 5 =5

Word problem of the week:
For every 8 girls in a school, there are 12 boys. If there are 40 students in the school, how many girls and boys are there in the school?

Answer: 8+8=16. 12+12=24. 24+8=40. There are 16 girls and 24 boys in the school.

Wicked word problems!

Solve these problems. Write down your strategies:

Zyla has 64 lollies to share between some friends. How many lollies would each friend get if there were 8 altogether? 64÷8=8

At Pt England Kids one teacher is allowed to care for three toddlers. How many toddlers can they look after if there are 8 teachers? 8x3=24

It takes AL87 5 minutes to make 10 sausages for the sausage sizzle. How long will it take them to make 70 sausages? 5+10+70=85 85 minutes

At camp, we need one adult to every 8 students. If there are 88 year eights this year, how many adults will we need to take? If there were 90, how many adults would we need to take to still be legal? 8+8=16

If 1 pack of raro makes 8 cups of drink, how many packs would we need to make 64?

8x8=64 so you’ll need 8 packs of raro to make 64

If 3 loaves of bread feed 9 children for a week, how many loaves would 12 children need?

You’ll need 4 loaves to feed 12 children.

Multiplication Magic 2.

We are learning to use place value to solve multiplication problems using whole numbers.

Times table practice:

5 x 5 =25 7x7=49

4 x 4= 16 8 x 8=64

3 x 3 = 9 11x 11=121

6 x 6= 36 5 x 4=20

9 x 9 = 81 10 x 10=100

Factors of 16 = 2x 12= 8 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=16

Multiples of 8 = ,80 2 4, 1,

A prime number is

25 x 25 =625

20 x 25 =500

5 x 25 =125

25 x 245 =6125

200 x 25 =5000

40 x 25 =1000

5 x 25 =125

267 x 250 =66750

200 x 267 =53400

50 x 267 =13350

Show your working under each problem:

1. Mrs Flavelle orders 15 boxes of cookies for camp. If each box contains 18 cookies. How many are there altogether?

15x18=270

2. Mrs Tele’a orders 12 cans of beans for camp. Each tin contains 240 beans. How many individual beans has she ordered? 12÷240=0.05

3. Room 4 is baking a rectangular cake for the garage sale. It is 22cm long and 16cm wide. What is the area of the cake? 22+16=38

4. Marika has brought some lollies in to share with the class for her birthday. She has brought 14 packets which contain 32 lollies each. How many lollies are there altogether? 14+32=46

5. If each of the 160 students in team five paid 135 dollars for camp, how much money would the camp make from our visit?

160+135=295

Multiplication Magic Number 1

WALT: We are learning to use place value to solve multiplication problems using whole numbers.

A factor is….

Factors of 24: 2, 12, 8, 3, 6, 4, 24

Factors of 30: 5, 6, 30, 6, 5, 30

A Multiple is….

Multiples of 6:     ,60

42 =

√49 =
25 x 8 =200
20 x 8=160
5 x 8 =40

25 x 15 =375
20 x 15 =300
5 x 15 =75

Show your working under each problem:

1.  Mrs Ilaoa orders 5 boxes of bats. If each box contains 7 bats, how many bats are there altogether?
5x7=35, so altogether is 35.
2. She then orders 23 boxes of cones. If each box contains 8 cones, how many cones are there altogether?
6440.
3.Mrs Tele’a orders pencils for team 5. She orders 25 boxes of 12 pencils. How many pencils are there altogether?
5+25+12=42
4. Chance has brought some lollies in to share with the class for her birthday. She has brought 14 packets which contain 12 lollies each. How many lollies are there altogether?
14x12=168
5. Team 5 are working out how much money they can make from their fundraising at the garage sale.

If they sell 27 plates of food for $12 each, how much money will they make?

If they sell 45 cakes for $15 each, how much money will they make?
3280500
6. Room 4 is 12m long and 11m wide. What is the area of the room? 11x12=132

How to become a good host

Why is it important to be a host?

What does a host mean? That’s what I’m wondering, A host is like a party-giver or a provider, meaning you offer them something like giving them a cup of tea, anything you give is called a provider, maybe a present.

information 1:

Well a good host means it is like a fortnite fashion show, it also means a host mentions a person who receives and entertains the guest and can connect to the audience. A good host doesn't talk about themselves but about the audience having a great experience. The host always helps the quest when they need help.

Information 2:
What does a host do?

A host greets the customers as they enter the restaurant and they put them on the waiting list. They also handle the phone calls/questions in the restaurant or the menu and help many customers when needed. At home also welcoming them and asking them questions about how their life is going.

Information 3 Helping homeless:
Help is meant if you see a homeless person sleeping out on the street and have nothing. I would like to help them by giving them a sleeping bag, food and a tent so they have shelter in case it rains. The sad thing is not all people living on the streets are homeless, they just act homeless and collect lots of money to buy drugs.

Conclusions:
And in this world there are living humans and creatures around this planet but there's a lot of kind people and unkind people, there ways you can change their lives by giving them advice or just keep on helping them.

Favourite Type of Maths

WALT: Conduct a statistical inquiry.

Today we did a statistical inquiry. We had to think of a question to ask our maths class. My question was what is your favourite type of maths?

This is what we found out:

Our class' favourite type of maths problem is multiply and their second favourite is divide and times table. there least favourites is square roots.
